I've noticed that Chris Fountain, my blogging buddy over at
For What It's Worth, has been getting a lot of heat lately for telling it like it is about the Greenwich, CT real estate market. And to hear the accusations, he's dragging the market down because of it.
It seems the local agents, at least those from the Ken & Barbie school of real estate, are aghast at what he's saying and, God forbid, don't want their clients and potential clients getting wind of his less than cheerful reports.
And while I haven't encountered quite the same degree of wrath as Chris, not to my face anyway, there does seem to be some, let's call it, misunderstanding about what this blog is all about and why I write it. So I was wondering how I should respond to this misunderstanding, when a reader wrote in the other day and did it for me. And better than I could have.
John - your blog rocks. It helps buyers feel more confident about the difficult decisions they have to make and helps sellers position themselves to make things move. Information pure and simple clears up what is a confusing market and helps keep things rolling.
Thank you
