Aside from all the really rotten stuff that happened in August, it was also not exactly a banner month for home sales. Here in the Tucson Foothills just 37 homes sold in August – the 2nd lowest monthly sales this year – at an average/median of just $391,343/$339,000 – which is the low/low for the year. And coming off July, when 54 homes sold for an average/median of $538,197/$433,373, it’s a real set-back.
That puts August home sales down 31% from last month, while the average/median sale price is off by 27% & 22%. August, good riddance.
And really, the full effect of August has yet to be felt in actual closed sales. That’s because most of the 37 deals that did close in August were made in those carefree days of July.
ps- there may be a few additional sales that get turned in, and as they are I will update.
