Two weeks ago in the post - Pima Canyon is more than pulling it’s weight, I mentioned that there were 12 sales of high-end homes in the last three months in the Foothills. And that 6 of them were in Pima Canyon.
And a reader asked why, why so many sales in Pima Canyon- relative to the rest of the Foothills.
I don’t know for sure, but here’s what I think; there were, and still are, a lot of homes for sale in Pima Canyon, so there’s a lot to choose from.
And along with that, all the homes in Pima Canyon are new or newer, most of them built in the last 5 years and many in the last year or two. And in my experience, more people prefer new to old. And if you’re willing to pay for it, and you’re spending upwards of one or two million, you get to pick and choose.
The are a lot of homes for sale in Catalina Foothills Estates 10, some in Ventana CC, La Paloma and Skyline too. But not nearly as many as in PC, and many of them are older, built in the 80’s and early 90’s and in Skyline there are homes from the 60’s and 70’s.
And it might be a different story if the older one’s were really nicely updated, but many are not. And most buyers don’t want to buy a house and then have to tackle a big renovation project, they just don’t.
