And after a few price cuts and a change in status to a short sale, it was available for $1,498,000, stipulating in the listing info -
Buyer must complete home
That listing expired yesterday and today – ta-da, it’s back as a lender owned home for $697,350, described as follows;
Contractor special! Building is 75-80% complete, lots of finishing touches on site. Incredible views, incomplete negative edge pool, kitchen cabinetry is all in, granite counter tops, some flooring needed. You must see to appreciate what a spectacular bargain this is.
OK, this is a new, partially built, maybe 75-80% complete, maybe not, buyer beware, but at $697,350/$153/sf/masonry construction/4569 sf/5 bedrooms/3.5 baths/pool/spa in Pima Canyon, though at the ass-end of it, it now sounds like a deal to me. At least one worth looking into. And PS, it appears they paid $460,000 for the lot, in 06.

And by the way, a few other half-builts have popped up recently, and I expect the one next door to this one, also a Tara-Sun not-quite-completed spec, to make an appearance soon. So I’m wondering if this isn’t the last gasp of the Foothills spec home boom-bust cycle, with those stragglers who were way too late to the party, now fizzling out in mid stream.
