home values in the Tucson Foothills are down 24.5% September 08 to September 09. Wrong.
The nice chart that accompanies and illustrates this price drop indicates that median prices were about $465,000 in 08 and about $420,000 in September 09. Which is more or less correct. But using Zillow’s numbers and doing the math, my handy-dandy calculator tells me that that amounts to a –9.67% drop in prices, not –24.5%. Try it and see.
btw, $465,000 less 24.5% = $351,075 and that’s not correct either.

And for you sticklers, my figures from the MLS show a median of $485,000 in September 08 and $420,000 in 09, for a –13.4 drop in prices.
