But hold the applause, because it won’t last and it’s not due to a flurry of sales. Between the homes that were withdrawn from the market during the holidays and those that expired at the stroke of midnight on New Years eve, we’re down to just 399 single family homes for sale in the Foothills – by far the lowest inventory in memory.
But soon, the expireds & withdrawns will be re-listed, along with all the other homes that have been waiting in the wings for this new season begin. So before long, we should be back up to, I’ll guess, 450 to 475 homes for sale.
And I think this, finally, will be the sink or swim year for many foothills home sellers. Because in an unfortunate turn of events – while many home sellers are now stretched thinner than ever, buyer expectations are now higher than ever – making it more difficult, than ever, to sell.
