I received the following email from a trusted resident of the old foothills area;
There was a mountain lion encounter off of Calle Del Cielo and Calle La Cima.
A small dog was attacked. Please take all precautions when letting small pets and children outside. Do not leave them unattended. If walking, either pick them up or keep them close as possible. Make loud noises, make yourself look big and move slowly towards a safe area.
UPDATE – FALSE ALARM, ADDITIONAL SIGHTINGS NOW INDICATE THAT THE MOUNTAIN LION IS ACTUALLY A BOBCAT.
