I thought in addition to posting month-to-month sold prices I’d start posting quarterly prices. Quarterlies smooth out the inevitable jumps and dips that occur monthly and make it possible to spot trends in the market.
The following chart shows quarterly average/median sold prices for single family homes.
Here’s the same data shown month-to-month, and compared to the quarterlies it’s hard to make sense of where the market is headed.
In any case, for the 4th qtr of 2013 average/median sold prices are up over the last two years.
