Comcast covers a wide swath of the Catalina Foothills with cable tv and broadband internet service, but it does not cover all of the foothills. There are many streets and areas where it’s just not available.
You can get satellite tv in any of those areas and that solves the tv issue, if it is an issue, but, increasingly, broadband internet service is the must-have connection. I know it is for me, I could care less about cable tv.
As an alternative there’s Century Link,(DSL connection) which, on it’s website, prominently displays internet connection speeds up to 40 megabits/second. And that sounds great, if you can get it. But I plugged in a few different foothills addresses, where cable is not available, and found that the highest available Century Link connection is 1.5 megabits/second, agonizingly slow by today’s standards, and not nearly fast enough to stream from Netflix, Amazon, etc. And forget about doing anything while someone else is connected. You’re dead in the water.
It’s something to check out before you commit to buying a home.
