Last March I posted a piece about an alarm system scam that was going around, aptly titled; the latest Alarm system scam
Some neighbors have been contacted by an alarm company called Security Networks, although they don’t identify themselves as such. I have received complaints from those who are customers of ADT Alarm Systems, and others. They attempt to sign customers to a 5-year contract for their system, which would actually replace ADT or whatever system the customer currently has. An online check of security systems and alarm companies reveals many, many complaints against Security Networks and their techniques. Last year, the Tucson Citizen did a report on such sales tactics: …

And I never heard about it again until today when I was contacted by Bret Buganski, a reporter for KVOA News 4, who came across that post while doing research for a story on this very same scam. Which, incredibly enough, is still going around.
I wasn’t much help to him, but tune in to KVOA News 4 on Sunday, 10/19 at 10PM to see what Bret has uncovered.
